Proyect AMOI: studies how, when, and why the knowledge produced in the Islamic West was disseminated within a broader framework, that of the Islamic community as a whole, and what changes and innovations were associated with that process.

Contribution to the DH:

This project has as its foundation and starting point an online resource, the History of Andalusian Authors and Transmitters (HATA) kohepocu.cchs.csic.es, the result of previous projects. HATA records the works written and transmitted in al-Andalus (=Muslim Spain) between the 8th and 15th centuries. This online resource will soon be accessible as a database connected to the Prosopografía de los Ulemas Andalusíes (PUA), a database of specialists in religious and other knowledge carried out by María Luisa Avila and Luis Molina at the Escuela de Estudios Arabes de Granada (CSIC) and which is also accessible online at eea.csic.es/pua.
